882 DNA Profiles Identified After Testing Old Sexual Assult Kits From 3 Oregon Counties

"Millions of dollars in grants to 20 states from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office led to the testing of more than 55,000 old sexual assault kits and the addition of more than 18,800 DNA profiles to the FBI’s national databank, including 882 profiles from Oregon’s kits.

The DNA profiles from Oregon cases in Multnomah, Marion and Lane counties led to 448 so-called hits, or matches to other DNA profiles already in the federal database. The matches so far have resulted in six prosecutions in Multnomah County and one in Lane County."
