Know Your Rights: Queer Edition

*Event Ended* Saturday, July 11th, 2020 at 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM PDT

The Reynolds Law Firm, PC is hosting a Know Your Rights training: queer edition, to help you know your rights when interacting with law enforcement, whether during a stop by police or at a public demonstration (with a focus on direct actions where there is the potential for conflict between the public or activists and law enforcement). Whether you are new to activism or a lifelong activist concerned about recent law enforcement responses to nationwide protest movements, our goal is to instill activists with the confidence to make decisions about how they will engage their activism. The program will include advice on public health best practices as activists navigate the new dynamic of public participation during a nationwide pandemic.

Registration is required via Eventbrite and spots are limited. We also want to emphasize this is a queer space, intentionally so we can answer questions and engage in dialogue within a comfortable community space, despite the program being online. This training is offered primarily as a service to Linn and Benton County residents and outlying areas, including students and residents who may participate in actions in Oregon's larger metro areas.
