Request for a Change/Exception to Oregon's Electronic Signature Rules

At The Reynolds Law Firm, PC, we provide services for domestic violence victims, children in crisis, and other individuals who often need immediate court assistance. Under UTCR 21.090, our clients must provide a “real” signature on documents to be filed with the court. That means that they must come to the office, which is currently unsafe, or print/fax/scan, and many don’t have access to such resources. We urge the Attorney General and Oregon Department of Justice to provide guidance and/or an emergency exception to UTCR 21.090 under circumstances like the current public health crisis.

Please consider the individuals—like our clients—who will continue to need immediate court help and protection during this time.
